After section 34 of the original Act, the following section 34A is added:- “34A. Debentures convertible into ordinary shares may be issued: (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 34, electricity generation or transmission, tunnel route A public company that operates infrastructure structures or services such as highways, cable cars, etc. may issue debentures that can be converted into ordinary shares. > (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (2), such debentures shall be converted into ordinary shares within the period prescribed at the time of issue of the debentures or within five years of the commencement of business operations by the company, whichever is earlier, until the face value of the debentures reaches the cover."
